Protest Cable Call 2011

Welcome to the PROTEST CABLE CALL 2011. This international wakeboard event took place on the 13th and 14th of August 2011 at the Down Under cableway, Nieuwegein. Pro women finals report

Allright, this was a bit hectic and we couldn't write all tricks down, so sorry about that...

Finals Pro Women
    1    Kirsteen Mitchell    UK
Kirsteen fell in her run and picked up at the third turn. Tailpress, boardside backslide, frontflip, and fell again while doing an invert
    2    Sophie Reimers    GER
Front to blind, back mobe, front mobe, boardslide transfer (fall)
    3    Tor Young    UK
Heelside frontside 3, backside 1 to switch backside 1, roll to blind, boardslide and boardslide out, some inverts, blind judge, heelside frontside 3
    4    Denise De Haan    NL
Frontside 180, hoochie glide, roll to revert, transfer boardslide backside out and then she lost her fin! She had some problems with that earlier. She went through the course with her hand held high, so the judges could see there was a problem. Within 3 minutes the fin was repaired and she picked up where she left off: at the funbox. Raley frontside 1, back mobe, ollie to boardslide on the slider, blind judge, heelside frontside 3.

The sun is coming!

But we don't know when exactly the sun shows up. Our very own weatherman Paddy has got some more info.

This Friday will be a cloudy day at Down Under. The wind is turning from southwest to west and tonight it'll be the right weather for wakeboarding! On Saturday the sky will be filled with clouds, the wind will turn to southwest and grow in strength to 5-6 Beaufort. At the Cable Call, there is some rain to be expected on Saturday afternoon. It won't be a lot, 2 mm max, but it's wise to bring a small umbrella or wear your Protest Cable Call cap!

Sunday, there is a small chance of some rain, but not a lot as well. And hey! The sun is probably attending the event on Sunday afternoon.

Thanks to weatherman Paddy aka Patrick van Iersel who shared this info on our Protest Cable Call event page. Check out his site here or high-five him at the Cable Call.

Triple A status: we've got it

Did you know that we have THREE Andreases competing at the Cable Call? We'd like to welcome Andreas Böttcher, Andreas Kjærgaard and Andreas Voss! Because of these boys attending, the Protest Cable Call is now an AAA-status event. In fact, we're having an AAA+ event because there's a whole lot of riders attending! Check out the updated list of the confirmed riders here!

course layout

We've just updated the course layout. Here you can see which obstacles will be in the water at the protest cablecall. Check it out!

confirmed riders confirmed

Have we got news for you! The first contestants have signed up. Of course, a lot of Protest riders will show up to put down some nice runs. Among them will be Maxine Sapulette, who finished 2nd in the ladies division last year. Tom Fooshee, winner in last years Pro Men category will hit the water again to defend his Protest Cable Call title. High quality stuff!

Take a look at the Confirmed Riders page.

message for you contestants out there

We've just uploaded the ridersinfo, so you guys will know when to go where to do what with who and why you should be doing that. Download both the documents at the page ridersinfo!
